Retreat

"Engaging Communities & Organizations for Wise Actions That Lasts: How to Host, Convene, Design and Facilitate Meaningful Conversations Around Complex Issues", will take place at Rivendell Retreat Centre on Bowen Island, British Columbia (20 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay;
30-minute bus ride from Vancouver). 

This practice retreat has grown out of, and is in many ways an
integral part, of the learning communities of Art of Hosting and the
Nexus for Change,and is for those who aspire to engage their
communities and organizations in effective meetings and conversations
around real and pressing questions.

Wise Action is a practically focused skill-building program for
people who want to gain confidence in the process of convening,
designing, and facilitating the engagement of a community or
organization.

Wise Action That Lasts is designed as a unique experiential retreat combining theory and practice around proven participatory methods used around the world for breakthrough thinking, decision-making and collaborative action. Through theory and experiential learning, participants will:

•  Gain a working knowledge of the principles, steps and practices of four core group processes: Dialogue, World Café, Open Space and Appreciative Inquiry;

• Understand and practice the different roles of host, convener, designer, facilitator and participant;

•  Explore and experiment with how to blend these various tools and apply them to their own issues and projects, and much more!

The all-inclusive cost of the retreat, accommodation and meals is gradated – $775 for community; $875 for government; $975 for business, plus GST – all in Canadian dollars.
