The World Café Hosting Fundamentals course will be delivered online, using the most effective interactive distance-learning technology (both synchronous and asynchronous).
The course will use the structure of a World Café, featuring coursework in rotating "tables" of four using Moodle's asynchronous forum technology and regular synchronous whole-class study groups using video-conferencing technology GoToMeeting.
Opening and closing synchronous sessions will be held on February 17th (9-11am Pacific Time) and April 7th (9-11:30 am Pacific Time). Attendence is required for these two sessions and an additional design team session the week of April 1st (date tbd).
There will also be synchronous weekly 1.5 hour study groups using GoToMeeting video-conferencing, dates tbd. Attendence at these study groups is optional, but highly recommended.
The course will be highly interactive and you will be expected to participate fully. Your coursework will take approx. 2-5 hours a week.
This academically rigorous, highly interactive online course is designed for serious students who would like a solid understanding of the World Café method and philosophy and want to work with senior practitioners and their peers to learn how to host powerful and effective World Cafés.
Co-hosted by Fielding Adjunct Faculty member Bo Gyllenpalm and Amy Lenzo, Managing Director of the World Café Community Foundation's Signature Learning Programs, both known for pioneering work in bringing the World Café process and principles into online learning and engagement.
