The Essence of the World Café

The essence of the World Café is a process. It is a dynamic relationship, not a thing. It is open, generative, expansive – the seeking, discovery, recognition, and realization of possibilities that arise in our being together. It is the remembering, renewal, and re-enlivening of the patterns that connect … the patterns that connect us to our own true nature, to one another, and to life itself.

The essence of the World Café is connection-seeking and pattern-generating, evoking, organizing, and guiding the development and expression of individual and collective potentials. It is the uplifting of wholeness present and wholeness emerging through higher-order connections. It is that which nourishes our life in relationship, in community, as citizens of the Earth awakening. It is a social technology – a practice, a way, a discipline – for reconnecting with Source, for lifting up collective intelligence, for enlivening the wisdom that dwells in and among us, for nourishing life and evolving consciousness into ever greater awareness, wisdom, creativity, and love.

This essence is an archetypal human process and elemental life process by which Being unfolds its essence and inherent potentials. It is the living spirit of Earth personified in groups awakening to who they are and who they are called to be as creative, co-evolutionary cells in the body of a living Earth.

This is the essence of the World Café.
